Unfortunately, it doesn't run because it cannot find String.split(). The error points me to the FSharp.PowerPack. I downloaded the power pack & Visual Studio says that the assembly must be recompiled to work with this version of Visual Studio. So, I downloaded the Power Pack source code to compile, and I receive an error that "unmanaged" is an unexpected identifier.

Thus, I'm a bit stuck. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Mike
Closed Issue: Provide method for determining whether two FSharpEntities are identical [3951]

In trying to build a search facility for the F# libraries in response to a question on StackOverflow (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2253730/does-f-documentation-have-a-way-to-search-for-functions-by-their-types/2253778) I ran into a an issue with the Metadata library. It seems like there is no easy way to check if two FSharpEntities are the same. For example, the following code returns false

let unitName = "Microsoft.FSharp.Core.unit"
let getEntity = FSharpAssembly.FSharpLibrary.GetEntity
(getEntity unitName) = (getEntity unitName)

It's possible to hack something together, but without a deep understanding of the internals it's easy to miss odd corner cases (such as the []`1 type). It seems like this would best be handled at the library level.

Thanks,
Keith
Closed Issue: PSeq.groupBy not using the the right comparison [3952]

From a bug report:

PSeq.groupby is breaking when applied to keys that are arrays. [4253]

I have been using FSharp 1.9.6.16 to access FSLex,FSYacc, and BigInt's among other things. However, when I went to install on a new machine, I found that the PowerPack 1.9.9.9 is incompatible with FSharp 1.9.6.16. I tried installing the most recent FSharp for Visual Studio 2008 along with the PowerPack, but that combination seems to have lost functionality (BigInt's in particular).

So .. does a PowerPack installer still exist for FSharp 1.9.6.16?

I tried to download the source to recompile it, but that appears to require a newer FSharp than 1.9.6.16. Perhaps there's an older version of the source code around somewhere?

Is there any other way for me to get my code compiling again with Visual Studio 2008?
Closed Issue: Fsharp 1.9.6.16 incompatibility?
